Students taking Business Technology Applications learn advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs that help prepare them for success once they graduate high school and begin the next chapter in their lives. Students further their knowledge in Word and PowerPoint but also learn Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook which are computer programs used in many workplaces.
Students who take BTA can obtain a Microsoft Office Specialist Certification to show they have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. This certification can be listed on resumes, job applications, and college applications. Students who earn one or more certifications will receive a credential (CRI) in the Business/Marketing Education program, which is recognized by the Alabama State Department of Education.
